Overview of Position:

If you’re a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist who wants to make a true difference in the world, you might be a good fit for our small and supportive team at Stuttering and Speech Therapy of Arizona (SSTA). We are seeking a part-time or full-time employee, paid hourly. (The full-time position will grow into a full caseload over time.) We greatly value time to do life outside of work and encourage self-care, time to play, and time with people you love.

Setting is primarily in-clinic with some possible teletherapy sessions. Our office serves children and adults of all ages. Age of clients and diagnoses on your caseload would be based on your experience, training, and comfort level. We offer a flexible schedule and prefer someone who can fill after school and/or Saturday openings. A desire to learn about stuttering and work with people who stutter is helpful but not required. If you have a specific area of expertise or training (e.g. apraxia, voice, feeding, reading, etc.), we would love to talk with you and advertise your specific skills.

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• SLP duties: complete evaluations, provide individualized treatment planning, collaboration with other professionals, coaching and counseling parents and family members, weekly treatment, maintain written documentation, etc.
• Attend and participate in monthly or bimonthly team meetings
• Job responsibilities may expand over time as the company grows

Qualifications:

• Professional and calm demeanor. Help our clients to feel like they are at home.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Exhibit knowledge and understanding of evaluation and therapy practice
• Show a desire to learn and complete continuing education
• Must be a critical thinker and make smart decisions without constant guidance
• Positive attitude and warm, compassionate attitude with clients, team members, and community
• Enjoys interacting with people, developing relationship with our families and helping other team members
• Desire to improve the clinic and grow with us long term
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and keep client information secure, this is essential
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite. Ability to learn Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and merchant services software.

Licensing Requirements:

• AZ Department of Health Services Speech and Language Pathology License
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
• First Aid and CPR
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
